Central High School Collaborative Quilt

I finally finished the quilt I'd been working on with Central High School students. It took me a few weeks to add the two layers and stitch in the ditch, but finally, it's done and hanging in the hall of Central High in Franklinton! The students worked together to design symbols that represent their lives: cell phones, hearts, trees, flowers, hands and more. We cut out big squares and rectangles for a wonky patchwork design, then the students ironed their symbols on top. We used a lot of fabric recycled from men's shirts- that's why it has a spring-like, pastel color scheme. In spite of the light colors, I think it turned out great!
